Establishment of Nishinomiya Health Promotion Center
Planning of the Nishinomiya Health Promotion Center began when the Nishinomiya Municipal Government asked the Nishinomiya Medical Association for assistance in the former's plan to construct a facility for the medical examination of the handicapped. According to the plan, this facility was to be located at a site adjacent to the General Welfare Center. Eventually, the Association established the Nishinomiya Health Promotion Center, which began operating in February 1986. The secretariat for the Association, as well as the offices of the Health Management Section of the Nishinomiya Municipal Government (responsible for affairs related to health and medical care) is located on the first floor of the Center. This floor plan enables the Association and Municipal Government to perform their businesses in close cooperation. Located on the second floor are the Large Training Room, Vaccination and Examination Room, Health Guidance Room, and other rooms with equipment for health-related business. Clinics of the Association are located on the third and fourth floors, and the Association’s Clinical Examination Department in the basement. The Center is thus designed as base for activities of the Association.
